CHECKMATE

Here's a bit of still life I built in 3DStudioMax a while back..
It seemed at the time to be a sort of 'right-of-passage' to sculpt chess pieces in 3D space, with some artistic twist to it.

So I thought... alright. a pregnant queen morning the loss of her fallen enemy and secret lover...? and stuff?

at that point I hadn't really mastered lighting, so it's a bit hard to see the black king... but now I look back at this piece fondly. I wish I still had access to that program
