And Here's the Master Sword again...
I simply wanted to photoshop the sword the same way you might "Airbrush" a celebrity for a magazine cover...
This was one of my earliest creations, months and months ago, and I recently decided to re upload it without Link in the background. Link wasn't an original creation, and I did not have permission to use him. I apologize to the hundreds of folks who had already added it to their collections and favorites. Hope you'll do it again.
On topic...
here's a description of my general method that best describes "using someone else' art" under the fair use...
I do alot of zooming in and drawing simple shapes, then use the smudge tool to fix the fact that my shapes and lines all suck, then distort and warp and blend.. all cuz my free hand sucks. I have no tablet, and a hardly working mouse.
I DO, however, bring in all sorts of things, for example the stitching on a shirt, a small chunk of hair, an iris or lips, grass from some stock image... I also use reference sketches to "draw over"
I'll be the first to admit i import alllll kinds of things into my art, thats just my method. I don't start on white paper or on a white screen, I twist and stretch and lighten and darken... hue, filter, blend, copy... rotate resize, flip and turn... just to get something simple like a shirt sleeve to lay properly on an arm.
and whatever i DO free-hand draw with my mouse... Gets all the same modifications to make IT blend better.
It takes days this way, same as it might to draw free hand. That is why it is categorized under Fair Use and considered one of the most common uses of Photoshop. photo manipulation beyond recognition from multiple sources... guess thats what you'd call my method
** If you ever need a Master Sword for a Zelda art project of your own... feel free to cut this one out and use it. I choose to let it go... share and share alike right? All my art is free for the taking! Help yourself!
